The Santa Monica Expo was held in the parking lot north of the Santa Monica Pier. Parking was still a premium, so many local
attendees walked or took other forms of transportation to get here. Others drove in from all over California.
Cargo bikes were a favorite, especially with families with kids.
from manufacturers including Blix, BMW, Bulls, Easy Motion,
Focus, Gazelle, Kalkhoff, Riese & Muller, Raleigh, Stromer,
Tempo, Trek, Walleräng and Yuba, with the latest electric
drive systems from Bosch, Shimano and others.
We had fun catching some seat time on new models,
trying some fun cargo bikes, and talking to manufacturers
and the public about electric bikes. Nearly 1000 people
attended the Santa Monica event, which was actually one of
the smaller turnouts of the tour.
The next California event will be in Long Beach in February
2017. We encourage everyone within driving, walking or
pedaling distance to attend. Whether you already own an
electric bike, or if you’re thinking about buying one, it should
be another great day to ride and learn. If nothing else, come
on out just to visit the EBA booth and say hello!
