A LONG ROAD
Making 4500 e-bike miles in 30 days
By Troy Rank
Early last summer I found myself gracefully sliding along the pave- ment and away from my beloved long-tail e-bike as it was crushed beneath the rear wheel of a school bus. Yet, despite my unlucky
encounter with a Mr. Bus Driver of the Month, by the end of the summer,
I returned home after riding the very same bike halfway across the U.S.
and back again. Shortly after cobbling the front half of my bike back
together (though the frame was still bent), I watched the odometer on my
Cycle Analyst cross the 6000-mile mark. It reminded me of the Guinness
world record held by Danny Halmo.
No support vehicle could keep me from enjoying this
sunset on a bike path north of Colorado Springs.
