You wouldn’t expect a wooded trail like this in the middle of
urban Portland, but here it is.
This probably wasn’t what the mayor’s of;ce had in mind when
trying to get people to use their cars less, but it is an alternate
form of transportation.
Tilikum Crossing keeps a count of how many cyclists use the
bridge. The count is different on both sides, because more people cross heading west than east across this bridge.
Bike lanes are the rule, not the exception, on most streets here.
Many of the bridges can be raised to
allow boats to pass under.
