Although the non-assist
bike world has largely
eschewed the wheel size,
we’ve seen a number of
commuter e-bikes that
roll on 20-inch wheels.
Izip took the unusual
step of going upscale
with their 400-watt Izip
E3 Twn bike, which has a
handy 35-mile range.
Not many bike brands have tested the concept of joining pedal assist with a high-end,
performance hardtail mountain bike. Cube is
yet another German brand who did just that,
and the bike rolled away from the Eurobike
show as a gold-medal winner.
Another bike that made big waves at the
Eurobike show was this wild, single-sided
BMC road bike that made a big push for
system integration. Given that BMC and
Stromer are the same company, many people are anticipating what the future of e-bike
development will bring between them.
