and at times the motor doesn’t stop
right away when you stop pedaling.
Thankfully, the brake levers have motor
cutoff switches. There is also a throttle,
and we did ;nd it fun to treat it a bit like
a motorcycle at times to just tool along
at full speed.
Braking is provided by Tektro
Novela mechanical disc brakes. This
bike weighs in at 61 pounds. With that
weight, plus the rider and power, these
mechanical discs with small 160mm
discs are underpowered to stop this
behemoth bike. But, spec’ing the bike
with this level of components does keep
the price down considerably.
The price is $1799, but as we
write this, it’s on sale. Because they
also have a warehouse in Blaine,
Washington, shipping to any address
in Canada is CAD $49 or to the U.S. is
only $70. There’s no sales tax for U.S.
The overall ride is comfortable, and
this is a capable bike even on ;at,
sandy areas with the beefy Juggernaut
tires. If you’re looking for an entry-level, budget fat bike but don’t go long
distances or do much off-roading, this
is well worth a look.;■
