FLASH FORWARD
A quick look at some 2017 models
This much we do know: the e-bike industry is growing like never
before. Both in America and
abroad, the popularity of
e-bikes continues to grow
and with it a parallel advance
in new battery and motor
technology. Indeed, it is as
exciting a time for the industry
who design the bikes as it is
for consumers who are
looking to buy. As
we get ready to
see firsthand all
that is new at
the upcoming
trade shows
(Eurobike and
Interbike),
here’s a
handful of just
some of the
bikes soon to
be rolling our
way.
HI-POWER CYCLES
HPC makes crazy-cool stuff.
They’ve revamped the Revolution
line for 2017. Being a custom
shop, even their production bikes
are customized per customer
order. This Revolution X 6.0 has
a custom paint job by a local
artist, a 6000-watt (yes, that’s six
thousand watts!) motor, 60-mph
top speed and a 2500 watt-hour
battery. The SRAM 10-speed
cassette doubles to 20 with the
Schlumpf drive. Suspension is
200mm in the front and 240mm
in the rear. This isn’t meant for
public roads or trail; it’s meant
for private land and extreme fun!
The 2017 HPC Enduro line
features a Bafang 1500-watt
mid-drive, a 670 watt-hour battery and a 30-mph top speed.
