The BMW Cruise isn’t new, but it is now
launching in the U.S. market. BMW is the first
major car manufacturer to bring out an electric
bike. It’s a Class 1 bike (20-mph assist) with
Continental Cruise Contact tires for the street,
a Bosch Active Line mid-drive and a 10-speed
Shimano Deore XT drivetrain. Shimano hydraulic
disc brakes and mud guards (included but not
shown) round out the highlights.
The bike won the Red Dot Design award, and
BMW joined the manufacturers demoing bikes at
the Electric Bike Expo starting in Chicago in June.
MSRP is $3000, and it comes in two sizes
(medium and large) and in matte white finish with
